What’s inside: A delicious dairy-free alternative to the traditional pumpkin pie. Whip this up single-serve pumpkin trifle in just 10 minutes and impress your guests!
As soon as fall sets in, so do the pumpkin-themed foods and desserts, not to mention the holiday feasts: turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
This year, we’re encouraging you to try something different with a single-serve dairy-free pumpkin trifle.
‘What even is a trifle?’ you ask, allow us to explain.
Tell Me About This Dairy-free Pumpkin Trifle
If this is your first time making a trifle, do not let that ‘Friends’ Thanksgiving episode scare you – you know the one we’re talking about!
Traditionally, trifles are layered desserts that include cake pieces, custard, fruit pieces, jelly and cream.
This dairy-free pumpkin trifle, in particular, is made with spice cake, OATgurt cream, and pumpkin pie filling.
How to Layer a Trifle Perfectly
The dairy-free pumpkin trifle has a simple three-step process.
First, make the pumpkin layer by combining the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla oatgurt, and pumpkin spice blend.
Next up is the oatgurt cream layer. Combine the whipped cream and vanilla oatgurt.
Last, put it all together.
PRO TIP: It might be easier to use a piping bag to add the oatgurt cream into each mason jar. You can create one at home by taking a plastic storage bag and cutting a small hole in the bottom corner.
Why a Single Serve Trifle is an Impressive Dessert
Your guests are going to be impressed by these individual dairy-free desserts, but there’s a lot more than meets the eye!
The OATgurt adds a creamy element to the trifle, while the vanilla flavour complements pumpkin really well! Plus, our OATgurt is loaded with B vitamins and probiotics that contribute to a healthy gut.
This dessert will leave you with a satisfied and happy tummy.
The beauty of the pumpkin trifle is that you can make it ahead of time so you can sit and enjoy the festivities with the rest of your loved ones.
